Srinagar: Indian Army personnel on Friday successfully foiled a drone intrusion attempt by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

According to security sources, around 15 Pakistani drones were detected near the Jodha Makan Beerandori area of the Keran sector after they crossed into Indian airspace. Alert troops immediately responded to the breach.

06 Rashtriya Rifles spotted drones

Soldiers from the 06 Rashtriya Rifles spotted the drones and opened fire, prompting the unmanned aerial vehicles to retreat back across the LoC within minutes.

Officials confirmed that no casualties or damage were reported during the incident. Security forces have since stepped up surveillance and vigilance in the area to prevent any further attempts.

The Ministry of Defence has not issued an official statement so far, while the situation along the LoC remains under close watch.
