Dolgam and Chatru Hit by Militants Encounter Amid Heightened Security Measures
Srinagar: Security forces are continuing Operation Trashi-I against terrorists in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. Launched in January 2026, the operation's primary objective is to eliminate terrorists operating in the mountainous areas of the Jammu region and weaken their network. This operation is a joint operation involving the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force.
On the morning of January 31, security forces encountered terrorists in the Dolgam and Chatru areas. Based on intelligence inputs, security forces sealed off the area and launched a search operation. No terrorist casualties or casualties have been officially confirmed in the encounter. The White Knight Corps stated that the operation is ongoing and the situation is being monitored.

Also, a drone from Pakistan in Chaliyari village was returned to the border by the BSF by firing four rounds. Following this, vigilance was increased in the entire area and security forces intensified the search operation.
Operation Trashi-I is not limited to a single encounter. Its objective is to identify and neutralize terrorists hiding in the mountainous and forested terrain. It also aims to eliminate the terrorists' weapons supply, logistics, and local support networks. Security forces are also monitoring the routes through which terrorists move from Jammu to the Kashmir Valley.
The Dolgam and Chatru areas are densely forested, with high mountains and limited road connectivity. Despite this, drone surveillance, modern technology, and real-time communication are being used to ensure the effectiveness of the operation. Due to the high vigilance and strategic planning of the security forces, terrorists are not getting any opportunity to escape.
Through Operation Trashi-I, the security forces want to send a clear message that there is no safe haven for terrorism, even in the remote areas of Jammu. This operation is aimed at completely stopping terrorist activities and restoring peace in the region.
