Kutch: After transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the Indian LPG tanker Shivalik is set to arrive at Mundra Port today. Another Indian LPG tanker, Nanda Devi, is also expected to arrive in India on March 17. Both ships have received permission from Iranian authorities to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
Special Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, stated that all Indian seafarers deployed in the Persian Gulf are safe. No untoward incident has been reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 24 Indian-flagged ships are currently in the Persian Gulf. Of these, Shivalik and Nanda Devi are LPG carriers. These ships are headed towards India carrying a total of 92,700 metric tons of LPG.
Mundra and Kandla ports will be their main arrival points. The remaining 22 Indian ships are present in the Gulf, carrying 611 seafarers.

Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, representative of Iran's Supreme Leader, confirmed on Saturday that Indian ships would be able to safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz. He said, "Absolutely, absolutely. Yes," when asked if Indian ships would be allowed to pass.
According to experts, this move strengthens India's energy security. Approximately 20 percent of global oil trade passes through the Persian Gulf. The safe transit of Indian ships demonstrates that the diplomatic dialogue and coordination strategy is working.
