New Delhi: The tragic accident of Air India flight AI-171 from Ahmedabad to London on June 12 shook the country. More than 265 passengers lost their lives in this horrific accident. In view of the magnitude of the accident and the possible lapse in aviation safety, now DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) has taken a tough stand.
According to the Dynamite News correspondent, DGCA has ordered a thorough technical investigation of all Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft included in the Air India fleet. This safety audit will start on June 15, in which the fuel, engine, hydraulic, and air systems of 787-8 and 787-9 model aircraft will be examined. DGCA has clarified that all reports will be submitted directly to the regulator and no negligence will be tolerated.
Which technical parts will be investigated?
As per the instructions of DGCA, the scope of the investigation will be wide. This includes:
Technical faults were constantly coming to the fore
The DGCA also clarified that in the last 15 days, continuous technical faults were reported in Boeing Dreamliner aircraft. These repetitive faults have also been made part of the investigation, and all airlines have been instructed to ensure quick resolution of every technical problem.
Is there a crisis of trust looming over the Boeing 787?
The June 12 accident is considered to be the most serious incident in the history of the 787 Dreamliner. In 2024, a Boeing engineer had given a serious warning about the structure of this aircraft. However, the direct connection of that report with the Air India accident has not been proved yet, but the shadow of doubt has deepened.
Boeing's response
In this entire matter, the Boeing company has said that it is cooperating with Air India in the investigation of the accident and will provide all kinds of assistance as per the need. Stay tuned to Dynamite News for further updates.
