India has clarified that it is not ready to completely open its agriculture and dairy sectors to the US, as the livelihoods of millions of Indians depend on milk production. Greer praised India's stance, stating that this step has been crucial in moving the negotiations forward.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that if the US is satisfied with India's offer, it should immediately sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
He welcomed the Trump administration's views on the offers made by India but did not provide a specific timeline for signing the long-awaited FTA between the two countries.
