New Delhi: Amidst ongoing trade negotiations between India and the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with US President Donald Trump. India has clarified that it is not ready to completely open its agriculture and dairy sectors to the US, as the livelihoods of millions of Indians depend on milk production. Greer praised India's stance, stating that this step has been crucial in moving the negotiations forward.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that if the US is satisfied with India's offer, it should immediately sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
He welcomed the Trump administration's views on the offers made by India but did not provide a specific timeline for signing the long-awaited FTA between the two countries.

Goyal also stated that five rounds of trade negotiations with the US have been completed, and it is now time to finalize the agreement. Trade negotiations between India and the US have accelerated, and the leadership of both countries has expressed a desire to enhance cooperation in this process.
If agreements are reached in the agriculture, dairy, energy, defense, and technology sectors, it will further strengthen the economic and strategic relations between the two countries.
The final implementation of the FTA will bring new strength to the trade interests and global economic partnership of both nations.
