Bengaluru: Member of Parliament Lahar Singh Siroya hosted a grand High Tea in Bengaluru in the honour of Jagdeep Dhankhar, Hon'ble Vice-President who is on a visit to the Silicon City. The event was presided over by Hon'ble Governor of Karnataka, Thaawar Chand Gehlot and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Siroya said, “I wouldn’t mind confessing that I have developed a special affinity and respect for him ever since I have watched him closely and interacted with him in the Rajya Sabha. Vice-President is a true democrat who does not mind harsh criticism to go alongside discussion inside and outside the Rajya Sabha.”

Expressing his gratitude to the Vice-President, Siroya said, “It has been one of the rare honours of my life to be able to personally welcome Dhankar Ji. My sincere thanks to Vice-President for accepting the invitation, and for permitting us to honour him.”

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized the importance of a vibrant democracy, stating that both the ruling and opposition parties have crucial roles to play.

Vice-President said, “Bengaluru is a place where technology thrives — the solution to national power lies here.”

Jagdeep Dhankhar acknowledged the continued commitment of Lahar Singh Siroya towards fostering dialogue and strengthening relationships between various stakeholders in society and politics.

Expressing his condolences to the victims of the Pahalgam massacre, the Vice-President noted, “In today’s world, peace is sustained through strength and technological excellence”.

The Vice-President also extended an open invitation to the business leaders and entrepreneurs of Bengaluru to visit the New Parliament. He expressed his interest in engaging with them further on matters of national importance.

Shivakumar lauded Lahar Singh and said, “Lahar Singh is a lucky man — though he hails from Rajasthan, he has managed to bring all of us together and (he added with a light-hearted remark) even managed to keep us in check.”
