Chandigarh: A plan to infiltrate Pathankot from Pakistan has been revealed. According to intelligence inputs, the terrorists' targets include the airbase, railway station, and other important military installations. The mastermind of the new plot is a Pakistani national, Muzaffar Ahmed.

Arrest of Suspected Accomplice

The Punjab Police have detained Billu Gujjar from the Gandla Lahri area on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities. Another suspect, Nazakat Hussain, is currently missing and a search is underway.

Security Forces on High Alert

Security has been tightened in sensitive areas of Pathankot district, such as Dumtal, Dhangu, Bhadroyan, and Milwan. Police, army, and special commandos have been deployed. The number of security personnel has been increased at night, and special checking operations are being conducted throughout the district.

Details of Intelligence Inputs

According to intelligence agencies, three terrorists will infiltrate Pathankot on the night of December 17-18 with the help of their local accomplices. They have used virtual numbers for communication. Meanwhile, sleeper cells are staying in guesthouses in Pathankot and conducting reconnaissance of the area.

Recalling the Previous Attack on Pathankot Airbase

Pathankot has a history of terrorist incidents. On January 1, 2016, six terrorists, disguised in Indian Army uniforms, infiltrated the airbase. In light of this incident, security forces have increased 24-hour vigilance and patrolling in the district.
