Noida police places SP leaders under house arrest
Greater Noida: Political tensions intensified on Saturday after Noida Police placed several Samajwadi Party (SP) student leaders under house arrest ahead of their proposed protest march to Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the ongoing paper leak controversy.
Among those detained was Mohit Nagar, District President of the Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha, along with several other party workers.
The leaders were planning to travel to Delhi to stage a sit-in demonstration highlighting concerns over repeated examination paper leaks and their impact on students.
SP Leaders Accuse Government of Failing Students
Speaking on the issue, Mohit Nagar alleged that frequent paper leak incidents across the country reflect the government's failure to safeguard the education system. He claimed that the future of lakhs of students is being jeopardized due to administrative lapses and ineffective governance.
Nagar further accused the authorities of suppressing democratic voices by preventing the protest. According to him, the decision to confine student leaders to their homes is an attempt to silence concerns being raised on behalf of students.
Separate Protest Planned by 'Cockroach Janata Party'
Adding to the political heat, the 'Cockroach Janata Party' has also announced a protest at Jantar Mantar over the paper leak issue. The demonstration is expected to target Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, with organizers claiming that a large number of supporters may participate.
In view of the planned protests, security arrangements have been intensified in Delhi, with law enforcement agencies monitoring the situation closely.
