JP Nadda visits RML hospital
New Delhi: Political parties across party lines on Tuesday rushed to Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia(RML) Hospital to meet students who were injured during police Lathicharge and teargas action following the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest march yesterday. In Parliament today, Opposition leaders slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Delhi government over the use of force against students.
Union Health Minister J P Nadda held a meeting with the doctors at the hospital to review treatment of the injured protesters while Opposition leaders, including Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal and several others, including Congress MPs Priyanka Vadra and K C Venugopal, interacted with the victims.
Taking to his X handle, Rahul said, " The country's students are saying- we have no future. And this government's ministers are saying we won't lose our seats...... In a country where students lose their future and ministers do not lose their seats-- there is no justice at all".
Nadda arrived at the Hospital in the morning and interacted with the injured protesters. He also held a meeting with the doctors to review their condition and the treatment provided to them. After Nadda departed from the hospital, Kejriwal visited the injured students and alleged that Prime Minister Modi is the biggest anti-national.
Kejriwal said that he would visit Parliament Street police station to find out how many FIRs have been registered and how many students have been detained illegally. The CJP protest turned violent on Monday as protesters allegedly pelted stones at police personnel, breached barricades and vandalised vehicles. Around 60 protesters were reportedly injured while the Delhi Police claimed over 118 personnel sustained injuries.
