New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday reviewed ongoing development projects, winter preparedness and the delivery of essential services in Anantnag, directing departments to speed up work and address public grievances without delay.
The review covered healthcare, education, roads, infrastructure, electricity, rural development, youth welfare and food and civil supplies. Abdullah stressed the need for better coordination among departments, effective implementation of government schemes and timely completion of projects to ensure development benefits reach people at the grassroots level.
With harsh weather conditions approaching, the Chief Minister asked departments to maintain the pace of development work before winter disrupts construction, transport and the movement of essential goods.
He directed the administration to ensure adequate stocks of essential commodities, particularly liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), in the months leading up to winter. The aim is to prevent shortages and inconvenience for consumers when adverse weather affects transport links and supply chains.
