New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi flags off three new trains from Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram. With this initiative, Mizoram is now directly connected to major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati.
1. Aizawl–Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express
- This Rajdhani Express covers a distance of 2510 km to Delhi.
- The train runs once a week and reaches Delhi in 45 hours and 30 minutes.
- Its average speed is 57.81 km/h.
2. Sairang–Kolkata Express
- This train runs three days a week — Saturday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
- It covers 1530 km in 31 hours and 15 minutes.
- Its average speed is 48.96 km/h.
3. Sairang–Guwahati Train
- This train leaves Sairang at 12:30 PM and reaches Guwahati at 2:30 PM.
A Goods Train Brings Relief to Mizoram
A goods train service also starts, which brings cement, steel bars, and other construction materials to Sairang. This boosts Mizoram’s infrastructure projects and reduces prices in local markets.
