New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 24, 2026, underlined the government’s strong focus on employment generation while addressing the 18th edition of the Rozgar Mela.

Speaking via video conferencing to 45 locations across the country, the Prime Minister handed over more than 61,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates in various government departments. His address reflected the Centre’s broader vision of empowering India’s youth, whom he described as the nation’s greatest strength.

Trade and Mobility Agreements Creating New Avenues

During his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that India is actively entering into trade and mobility agreements with several countries. According to him, these agreements are not just about economic cooperation but are also aimed at creating new employment and mobility opportunities for Indian youth, both within the country and overseas.

He noted that such partnerships help young Indians gain global exposure, enhance skills, and access better career prospects in a rapidly interconnected world.

Mr. Modi highlighted that India has the largest population of young people in the world, making it essential to continuously expand employment opportunities.

Rozgar Mela: Turning Vision into Action

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Rozgar Mela is a flagship initiative designed to translate the government’s commitment to job creation into tangible outcomes. Since the launch of the Rozgar Mela programme, more than 11 lakh appointment letters have already been issued across the country, demonstrating the scale and consistency of the recruitment drive.

Nationwide Recruitment Across Key Ministries

The 18th Rozgar Mela saw newly appointed candidates joining several important ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Department of Higher Education. Selected from different parts of India, these recruits reflect the inclusive and nationwide nature of the initiative.
