Imphal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited the Churachandpur district of Manipur, which has been one of the most affected areas by the recent violence. The purpose of this visit was to launch new development initiatives, meet the affected people, and create an atmosphere of peace in the state.

Prime Minister Modi reached Churachandpur and met the people who were affected by the recent ethnic and social violence. He assured them that the Central Government and the State Government are making every effort to resettle and rehabilitate them.

He said that now facilities like medical colleges, electricity, roads, and railways have become better than before in Manipur, which was a big drawback earlier.

Emphasis on employment for youth

PM Modi especially emphasized new opportunities for employment and self-employment for the youth of Manipur. He said that the youth will be brought forward by promoting investment and industrial activities in the state.

He said, “The name of Manipur itself is ‘Mani,’ which will enhance the shine of the entire Northeast.”

Appeal for peace and harmony

The prime minister appealed to all communities and organizations to maintain mutual understanding and peace. He informed us that the Government of India has recently signed agreements with organizations of the Hills and Valley regions, which is a big step towards establishing peace.

He reiterated that the government's effort is to listen to every group and find a solution with respect.
