New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in New Delhi on Thursday, marking Putin’s first visit to India in four years. The two leaders announced a long-term Economic Cooperation Programme, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and turbocharge strategic sectors by 2030. Central to this vision is the early conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, intended to enhance trade and investment flows between the countries.

Additionally, plans are underway to train Indian seafarers for navigation in polar waters, strengthening maritime expertise for critical international shipping routes.
