New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog on June 11 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi.

The meeting will be held under the theme “Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat @2047” and is expected to bring together chief ministers, lieutenant governors, Union ministers and senior NITI Aayog officials.

Focus on Human Development

The meeting will centre on an Inclusive Human Development Framework designed to support India's long-term development goals. Discussions will revolve around four major pillars: foundational human capital and future-ready skills, productive employment and entrepreneurship, health and nutrition, and ensuring equity and dignity for all citizens.

Officials believe these areas will be critical in shaping India's journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Employment and Entrepreneurship High on Agenda

Creating sustainable jobs and expanding entrepreneurship opportunities will be among the key topics during the meeting. Participants are expected to deliberate on ways to strengthen skilling initiatives, improve workforce readiness and support innovation-driven economic growth.

The discussions are likely to focus on preparing India's young population for future industries and emerging technologies.

Governance Reforms and Digital Push

The Governing Council will also examine an implementation roadmap that relies on governance reforms, Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), public-private partnerships and greater convergence among government schemes.

Data-driven monitoring systems will be discussed to track development outcomes and ensure effective implementation of welfare and growth-oriented programmes across states.

Review of Chief Secretaries’ Recommendations

Another important agenda item will be the review of recommendations from the 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries held in December 2025.

The recommendations cover five key sectors early childhood education, schooling, skilling, higher education, and sports and extracurricular activities. Policymakers are expected to assess how these recommendations can be integrated into national and state-level development plans.

Strengthening Cooperative Federalism

The Governing Council serves as NITI Aayog’s top decision-making platform and plays a vital role in fostering cooperative federalism. The meeting will provide an opportunity for the Centre and states to align priorities and work together on achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The deliberations are expected to help shape India's human development strategy and accelerate progress towards inclusive and sustainable growth.
