New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Malaysia from February 7 to 8, following an invitation from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. This marks Modi’s third official trip to Malaysia and his first since India and Malaysia elevated ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in August 2024.

Focus on Strengthening Cooperation

During the visit, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with PM Anwar Ibrahim to review the progress of India-Malaysia relations and explore new avenues for collaboration. The discussions will cover trade, investment, defence, security, maritime cooperation, digital technology, finance, energy, healthcare, education, culture, tourism, and more.

Engaging with the Indian Community and Business Leaders

PM Modi is also scheduled to meet members of the 2.9 million-strong Indian diaspora in Malaysia—the third largest Indian community worldwide—along with industry and business representatives, highlighting the importance of people-to-people and economic ties.

India and Malaysia share long-standing historical, cultural, and civilisational links, which form the foundation of their growing relationship. The visit will provide a platform to further strengthen this multi-dimensional partnership across multiple sectors.
