Muktsar Sahib: In a shocking incident, five people were killed in a powerful blast at a firecracker factory in Punjab’s Muktsar Sahib district on Friday.

According to the latest media reports, 25 others suffered injuries. The explosion led to the collapse of the two-storey building, trapping several labourers under the debris.

The incident occurred in the two-storey factory unit located on Singhawali-Kotli road in Sri Muktsar Sahib, Lambi's Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jaspal Singh, said over the phone.

Rescue operations are underway, with local authorities, fire services, and disaster.
