Ludhiana: A heartbreaking incident of murder of a live-in partner has come to light in Ludhiana.
Punjab Police has arrested the accused with the help of local officials from Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.
An official gave this information on Sunday. He said that the accused Sunil Kumar has been arrested from a village in Dhanepur police station area. Now Punjab Police is preparing to take him to Punjab on transit remand.
Inspector Aditya Sharma, who led the Punjab Police team, said that the accused Sunil is a resident of Khwajajot village in Dhanepur area.
He met his 20-year-old Radhika in Ludhiana. Sharma said, 'Sunil came to Ludhiana for work, after a few days of friendship he started living with Radhika.'
The two were living together in a rented house in Fatehganj area of Ludhiana for the past six months but recently Sunil found out that Radhika was already married - something that hurt him deeply.
"A few days before the incident, Sunil found out about Radhika's past which led to an argument between the two. On the night of June 8, the argument escalated and Sunil allegedly tied Radhika's hands and legs, strangulated her to death and then fled," the officer said. Radhika's brother Rahul approached the police after her death and an FIR was registered on his complaint.
