About Poisonous Liquor

Toxic liquor, also known as spurious or illicit alcohol, is alcohol that has been adulterated with harmful substances like methanol, making it poisonous and potentially fatal when consumed. This often happens when alcohol is illegally manufactured or smuggled, and the bootleggers add dangerous additives to increase profits.

How it's made

Methanol

A common adulterant is methanol (methyl alcohol), which is a toxic chemical used as an industrial solvent. It is mistakenly consumed when it is passed off as alcohol.

Other additives

Other hazardous substances may include industrial chemicals, dyes, or even harmful bacteria.
