New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has put major economic pressure on India by imposing a 50% import duty. The step is taken amidst the ongoing tension between the US and Russia, in which India has come under target due to its strong relations with Russia.

Amid this crisis, India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval's visit to Moscow is very important. Doval is holding important talks with Russian officials and President Vladimir Putin. The Russian news agency Interfax reported that Putin may visit India later this August, although it has not yet been officially confirmed.

A new twist in Indo-America-Russia triangular relations

Interestingly, American messenger Steve Vinucoff recently failed to visit Russia. Despite this, Trump imposed an additional 25% tariff on India. In such a situation, Doval's visit to Moscow and Putin's possible visit to India clearly indicate that India is not going to bow to American pressure.

India has always considered Russia its reliable companion. The two countries not only have a strong partnership in the defense sector but also in energy and international forums; they both support each other. Even after America increased the tariff, India's decision to strengthen relations with Russia is proof that India is firm on its independent foreign policy.

Analysts believe that this development is another examination of India's 'multi-alignment' policy. India will have to balance business relations with the US and a strategic partnership with Russia. In the coming days, it has to be seen whether India is able to protect its interests in this complex geopolitical equation.

The story is being updates, stay tuned to Dynamite News for further updates on this tense geopolitical situation.
