New Delhi: In a major administrative action involving the Railway Ministry, the General Managers (GMs) of four zonal railways have been transferred. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal and issued new orders.
Naresh Pal Singh, who was previously General Manager (GM) at Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi, has been appointed General Manager of North Central Railway (NCR), Prayagraj.
Uday Borwankar, Director General, RDSO, Lucknow, has been appointed the new General Manager of North Eastern Railway (NER), Gorakhpur.
Subhranshu Sekhar Mishra, who was General Manager at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, has been appointed General Manager of Metro Railway, Kolkata.
Vijay Kumar, General Manager, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, has been appointed General Manager, Central Railway, Mumbai. This position will fall vacant upon the retirement of Dharamveer Meena on 30 September.
This reshuffle is being seen as a step towards improving the efficiency of the railway administration and strengthening leadership across various zones.
