New Delhi: The weather in Delhi-NCR is set to change once again in mid-February. Amidst the bright sunshine and rising temperatures, rain is now expected, which could bring some relief from the heat. The Meteorological Department has issued an important forecast for the next two days.

Rain likely on February 17-18

According to the India Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in many parts of northwest India, including Delhi-NCR, on February 17 and 18. This change in weather will be due to two simultaneous activations of western disturbances. A slight drop in temperature is also possible due to the increased wind speed along with the rain.

People are suffering from increasing heat

For the past few days, the maximum temperature in Delhi has remained above normal. The sun is becoming quite intense after 11 am, making it difficult to go outside. People are surprised by the heat-like conditions in February itself. Weather experts say that such fluctuations are becoming more frequent due to changing climate patterns.

Temperature Forecast

According to the Meteorological Department, maximum temperatures are expected to remain above normal throughout the week. In the coming days, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 26 to 29 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is also expected to gradually increase. This will alleviate the mild morning and evening chill.

Strong Winds Also Affecting

Wind speeds are expected to reach 15 to 20 kilometers per hour on Saturday, while they may decrease to 10 to 15 kilometers per hour on Sunday. Due to strong winds and possible rain, air quality may also see a temporary improvement.

What Will Weather Be Like Next?

The Meteorological Department predicts that a new western disturbance, which will become active on February 16th, will affect the western Himalayan regions, reaching the plains on February 17th and 18th. After this, temperatures are expected to rise again.

Overall, the weather this February is expected to be full of ups and downs, with the effects of heat, wind, and rain.
