New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the first meeting with Group of Ministers on the escalating West Asia crisis on Saturday evening. The high-level meeting comes amid growing concerns over the geopolitical situation and its potential impact on India.
The meeting comes amid multiple meetings held by the Centre on the ongoing conflict and assuring people that there is no shortage of fuel. The Centre has already conducted multiple review meetings to assess the evolving scenario, particularly focusing on fuel availability and supply chain stability. Authorities have assured citizens that there is no shortage of fuel in the country.
The Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring developments in the region and is actively working to provide necessary assistance to Indian nationals currently residing in West Asia.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of States and Union Territories. The discussions focused on preparedness measures in light of the ongoing crisis and its possible implications for India.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi appreciated the suggestions put forward by the state leaders and emphasized that coordinated efforts would be crucial in tackling emerging challenges. He stressed the importance of vigilance, preparedness, and seamless coordination between the Centre and states.
Referring to the current situation, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s prior experience in handling global disruptions, citing the collective response during the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that the “Team India” approach had played a vital role in managing supply chains, trade, and everyday life during that period.
Modi reiterated that the same spirit of cooperation and unity remains India’s biggest strength in effectively navigating the ongoing West Asia crisis.
