Rajouri Search Operation Yields 3 Hand Grenades, 101 PK Rounds and AK Ammunition

Rajouri: Security forces recovered a cache of ammunition, hand grenades and other items during a search operation in the Doba Gali area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Wednesday, officials said.   The operation was launched after security personnel received specific intelligence inputs about the area. During the search, forces located several types of ammunition and weapon-related equipment. Officials have not yet disclosed the origin of the recovered material.

Hundreds of Rounds and Grenades Found

According to officials, the recovered items included four under-barrel grenade launcher (UBGL) rounds and three hand grenades. Security personnel also found two belts containing a combined total of 101 PK rounds. The ammunition cache further comprised 16 pistol rounds and 237 rounds of AK-series ammunition. The recovery represents a range of ammunition associated with different types of weapons.

Weapon Accessories Also Recovered

In addition to the ammunition and grenades, the search team recovered an AK bayonet, two AK magazines, a carry bag and a ground sheet from the location. The items have been recovered for further examination. Authorities are expected to assess the material to determine its origin and establish the circumstances in which it was found.
