Ram Rahim out of jail again
Rohtak: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Singh (Gurmeet Ram Rahim), who is serving a life sentence in serious cases like the sexual assault of female followers and the murder of a journalist, has once again been released from jail.
He was released on 40-day parole from Sunaria Jail in Rohtak at 11:30 AM on Monday. Upon his release, a convoy of luxury vehicles from the Sirsa Dera arrived to pick him up, including two bulletproof Land Cruisers, two Fortuners, and other vehicles.
Gurmeet reached the Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa at around 2:45 PM. This is Gurmeet Singh's 15th release. Earlier, he had been released on parole to celebrate his birthday on August 15, 2025. After his release from jail, supporters present outside the Dera in Sirsa expressed their happiness.

Dera Sacha Sauda spokesperson Jitendra Khurana said that parole and furlough are legal rights of every prisoner. Under the rules, 70 days of parole and 21 days of furlough can be granted in a year. This facility is not only given to Gurmeet Singh but also to about six thousand prisoners in the state by the competent authority.
What is the difference between parole and furlough?
Furlough means releasing a prisoner from jail for a short period as an incentive for maintaining good conduct and discipline in jail. It is an encouragement for the prisoner's good behavior in jail. The period spent by the prisoner outside jail on furlough is counted towards their sentence.
On the other hand, parole means temporarily releasing a prisoner for a short period so that the prisoner can fulfill their family and social obligations and responsibilities. CBI court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
They clarified that the revered Guru Ji will remain at the Sirsa Dera during this period and all activities will be within the legal framework. Gurmeet Singh has been in jail since 2017. Gurmeet was sentenced to 20 years in prison on August 25, 2017, in a case of sexual assault of two female followers. On January 17, 2019, he received a life sentence in the murder case of journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati. In October 2021, a CBI court sentenced him to life imprisonment in the murder case of Dera manager Ranjit Singh.

Delivered a message to the followers after reaching Sirsa
After reaching Sirsa, the Dera chief congratulated the followers on the birth month of Shah Satnam Singh through the Zoom app. He said that no follower should come to Sirsa without the permission of the Dera management. He advised the followers to participate in the prayer meetings at nearby Deras.
