New Delhi: Security and traffic arrangements have been tightened in the National Capital New Delhi for the Republic Day parade. Traffic restrictions will be implemented on several major roads starting this evening in view of the parade, which will begin at 10:30 am on January 26th from Vijay Chowk and proceed to the Red Fort. The Delhi Traffic Police has appealed to the public to avoid traveling to New Delhi and Central Delhi on January 26th and to use alternative routes.

Parade Route and Security Arrangements

The Republic Day parade will begin at Vijay Chowk via Kartavya Path, passing through C-Hexagon, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhash Marg, and reach the Red Fort. No one will be allowed to cross the route during the parade. For security reasons, the entire event will be monitored through drones and other aerial surveillance.

Traffic Restrictions to Be Implemented

Traffic restrictions will be completely closed on Kartavya Path from Vijay Chowk to India Gate from 5 pm on January 25th until the parade concludes. Vehicles heading towards Kartavya Path will also be stopped on Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road from 8 p.m. on January 25th. The C-Hexagon-India Gate route will be closed from 9:15 a.m., while traffic will be restricted in both directions on Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg, and Subhash Marg from 10:30 a.m.

Alternative Routes for Railway Stations

The traffic police have issued alternative routes for passengers traveling to New Delhi and Old Delhi railway stations. Passengers arriving from South and East Delhi have been advised to follow the designated routes. While there will be no specific restrictions for those arriving from North Delhi, they are urged to allow extra time.

Bus Services and Inter-State Buses

City bus services will terminate at designated locations, such as ISBT Kashmere Gate, Sarai Kale Khan, Mori Gate, and Pragati Maidan. Inter-state buses will also be allowed to operate only at limited locations.

Delhi Borders Sealed from 9 PM

Delhi's borders will be sealed from 9 PM on January 25th until the end of the parade on January 26th. During this period, no light or heavy vehicles, except those carrying essential services, will be allowed to enter Delhi.

Help Desks and New Facilities

For the convenience of spectators, 12 help desks have been set up, providing information on routes, parking, and seating. A "car calling system" is also being implemented for the first time, making it easier to call vehicles from parking lots. The traffic police have appealed to the public to follow instructions and plan ahead before traveling.
