New Delhi: Robert Vadra expressed concern over the Pahalgam terror attack and said that the kind of environment being created in the country against Muslims is worrisome, reports Dynamite News correspondent. He raised the question, “Why are terrorists killing people based on religion? This also needs to be thought about.”
Vadra further said, “Muslims are being prevented from offering namaaz on the road, mosques are being surveyed, and the result of this is this violence.”
Giving his personal opinion, he said, “I always feel (this is my own thinking, neither that of the Congress nor that of the family) that when Muslims are prevented from praying, mosques are doubted, or minorities are hurt by highlighting history like Babar-Aurangzeb, it has a bad impact.”
Vadra said, “Religion and politics should be kept separate. I think, this terror attack is also the result of this tension. The attackers chose the target based on their identity—where does this thinking come from? Maybe because they feel Muslims are being suppressed.”
Pakistan on high alert, fear of India’s retaliatory strike
According to intelligence sources, the Pakistani army has declared high alert on the Line of Control (LoC). Pakistan fears that India may carry out a surgical strike or air strike.
There are 40+ terrorist camps active in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), where 100-130 terrorists are present. Out of these, 4 terrorists carried out the Pahalgam attack.
Modi government’s befitting reply?
Prime Minister Modi returned to Delhi leaving his Saudi visit and is holding meetings with National Security Council (NSC), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Army chiefs.
After 2016 (Uri) and 2019 (Pulwama), the Modi government had taken strict retaliatory action. This time too there can be a big action. This attack is a challenge to normality in Kashmir after the removal of Article 370, which will be strongly countered.
Terrorists adopted a new pattern
This time the terrorists targeted tourists and attacked wearing army uniforms. First they asked the identity of the victims (name, religion), then asked them to recite Kalma and shot them.
