SC rejects Justice Yashwant Varma’s plea challenging in-house inquiry for his removal

A bench of Justices Dipanakar Datta and AG Masih rejected every argument raised by senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Mukul Rohatgi on behalf of Justice Varma. The bench said the inquiry process scrupulously adhered to the in-house procedure laid down by the Supreme Court in its judgments.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday junked the plea of Justice Yashwant Varma challenging an in-house inquiry report that recommended his removal after a large cash stash was found in his residence earlier this year.

A bench of Justices Dipanakar Datta and AG Masih rejected every argument raised by senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Mukul Rohatgi on behalf of Justice Varma. The bench said the inquiry process scrupulously adhered to the in-house procedure laid down by the Supreme Court in its judgments.
