Srinagar: Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a joint operation in the forward area of Sudhpora in Karnah sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Saturday.  The recovery was made during an intelligence-based security operation carried out in the strategically important border region.

Joint Operation Launched in Sensitive Border Area

According to officials, security forces conducted the operation in the forward area of Sudhpora following security inputs. During the mission, personnel recovered arms and ammunition suspected to have been hidden in the area. A senior police officer confirmed the recovery and said further details regarding the type and quantity of the seized material are awaited.

Investigation Begins to Trace Source of Weapons

Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances behind the recovery and identify the possible source of the arms cache. Security agencies are examining the recovered items and gathering additional information as part of the ongoing probe.
