New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the fifth edition of Semicon India 2026 in New Delhi, underlining India’s growing ambitions in the global semiconductor sector and calling on students and young innovators to play a key role in shaping the country’s technology future.
The event has brought together global semiconductor companies, industry leaders, researchers and academic institutions as India pushes to build a complete chip ecosystem from semiconductor manufacturing and design to advanced technologies.
During his interaction with students, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the importance of innovation, research and skill development in emerging technologies.
He said that India’s youth will be central to the country’s journey in areas such as artificial intelligence, electronics and semiconductor technology. The Prime Minister emphasised that students should focus on creativity, learning and developing solutions for future challenges.
