New Delhi: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force and his colleagues will return to Earth today from the International Space Station under the Axiom-4 mission. This mission was the first space journey for them and now they will land safely on the California coast after a journey of about 22 hours, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
The process of returning to Earth from space is a complex and carefully planned process, which includes many stages. Astronauts have to face several challenges while entering the atmosphere.
Astronauts have to sit in a special type of spacecraft called SSS to return to Earth. The spacecraft from which Shubhanshu Shukla and his team are returning is the "Dragon" spacecraft. This spacecraft is attached to a special capsule, which separates from the spacecraft while entering the Earth's atmosphere.

When the capsule enters the Earth's atmosphere, the temperature increases greatly due to friction. At this time, to protect the capsule, it is equipped with a heat shield, which protects it from excessive heat. This heat shield protects the structure of the capsule and protects it from extreme temperatures. At this time, the capsule gains speed very rapidly, due to which it has to face many potential dangers.
Now when the capsule is moving rapidly towards the Earth, slowing it down is another big challenge. For this, large parachutes are used. Which help in reducing the speed of the capsule. Parachutes are quite large and are specially designed for this process. This process is called "splashdown", where the capsule is landed safely in the sea. The capsule of Subhanshu and his team will land on the beach of California.
After returning from space, astronauts have to undergo a rehabilitation process. In which their health is tested. In particular, they are kept under the supervision of doctors for a few days, so that their body is not affected by the effects of Earth's gravity. This process can last up to 7 days, so that the body of the astronauts can adapt to Earth's gravity and they can return to normal condition.
This journey is very important and challenging for Shubhanshu Shukla and his companions. They will land safely on the beach of California today (Tuesday) at around 3 pm Indian time. This entire process will take about 22 and a half hours, which includes the process of safe landing on Earth carefully along with the speed and environmental challenges of the Dragon capsule.
