New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Tuesday. Hospital sources say her condition is stable and she is under the supervision of a pulmonologist.

Sources stated that this is a routine checkup and admission. Sonia Gandhi has a chronic cough and regularly undergoes health checkups in light of the rising pollution in Delhi.

According to reports, she was admitted to the hospital on Monday evening. The hospital clarified that her condition is not serious and that this is a fully controlled and routine health checkup.

Under medical observation

Sonia Gandhi has been regularly monitoring her health and, given the rising pollution and physical fatigue in Delhi, periodically undergoes chest and respiratory checkups. This time too, she has been placed under medical observation due to her chronic cough.

Sonia Gandhi was also hospitalized in June last year. At that time, she was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi due to stomach-related problems. According to a statement issued by the hospital, Rajya Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi was kept under observation in the Gastroenterology Department, and a team of doctors was constantly monitoring her health.

Sonia Himachal Pradesh Visit

A few days earlier, Sonia Gandhi was on a visit to Himachal Pradesh. After her health deteriorated there, she was admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla on June 7. After preliminary examinations, doctors declared her condition stable.

After initial treatment in Shimla, Sonia Gandhi was brought to Delhi for further evaluation and routine health checkups. Naresh Chauhan, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, stated at the time that the Congress Parliamentary Party leader had no serious problems and that the admission was only for a routine health check-up.

A few days after returning to Delhi, she was re-admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital as a precautionary measure, where she was examined under the supervision of specialist doctors. According to hospital sources, his health improved during treatment and the condition remained completely under control.
