Congress CWC Meeting Begins at Indira Bhawan
New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge chaired the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting at Indira Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi, and several senior leaders are present. The meeting was called to discuss the party's future strategies and organizational issues.
Amidst speculation about a leadership change in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attended the meeting. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had stated that he was adamant about his 2.5-year leadership change agreement. Although DK Shivakumar was not invited to the meeting, he was not invited.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's relationship with the party has been tumultuous. Recently, he skipped several Congress meetings and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Ramnath Goenka lecture. Tharoor also skipped the "Vote Chor Gaadi Chhod" rally and the Congress MPs' meeting held in Delhi.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, senior leader Harish Rawat, former External Affairs Minister Salim Khursid, MPs Rajiv Shukla and Abhishek Manu Singhvi were present at the meeting. Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari was also absent.
BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan questioned the meeting regarding Congress's defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections and the "Vote Chor" campaign. He tweeted whether the Congress CWC would hold Rahul Gandhi responsible for the party's defeat or attempt to cover up his failures.
Experts say the meeting will discuss issues such as the party's organizational strength, strategy for the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections, a review of the Bihar elections, and state leadership changes. This meeting is seen as an opportunity for the Congress to strengthen its position in the new year.
