Telangana: 4 killed, several injured as wedding bus rams into stationary lorry

Vikarabad: At least four people were killed and several others injured when a wedding bus collided with a stationary lorry in Vikarabad district on Tuesday.

A group of 60 people from Chenvelli village in Chevella Mandal of Rangareddy district were returning home by bus after attending a dinner party in Parigi when the accident happened on the Bijapur-Hyderabad National Highway near Rangapur in Parigi Mandal.

One person was killed on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the Parigi Government Hospital.

The seriously injured were later shifted to the Osmania Government General Hospital in Hyderabad for advanced medical care, the police said.

Traffic on the highway was severely affected, with vehicles stranded for several kilometres.

A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway, police said.
