New Delhi: Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, a sense of peace often gets lost, prompting people to travel in search of it. Increasingly, many are choosing to head to the mountains and opt for trekking adventures. With the monsoon season now upon us, if you are planning a trip, here are some of the finest and most beautiful treks to consider.
The rainy season is special because nature reveals a truly magnificent, rejuvenated beauty. Who would want to miss out on such stunning scenery? Let’s explore five of the best treks to undertake during this season:
Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, the Valley of Flowers trek is one of India's most famous treks-a name known even to those who do not usually trek. The beauty of the blossoms here is a sight to behold. Home to around 500 species of flowers, the valley features varieties that many have never even heard of. Notably, this beautiful valley is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The trek spans a distance of 19 kilometers.
Hampta Pass is among Himachal's most famous treks and is part of the Pir Panjal range. Situated at an altitude of 14,000 feet above sea level, the trek begins in Kullu; the route captivates travelers with towering mountains, the stunning Chandra Taal Lake, and flowing waterfalls. The trek covers a distance of approximately 25 kilometers.
Kashmir isn't called 'Paradise on Earth' without reason; experience it for yourself by embarking on the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek. If you wish to truly savor the beauty of nature, consider this trek located in the valleys of Kashmir. A standout feature is that, while trekking, you will get to see not just one or two, but five lakes. This trek spans a distance of 75 kilometers.
Bhrigu Lake is steeped in mythology; it is believed that the sage Bhrigu (Maharshi Bhrigu) once sat here in deep meditation. Located near Manali in Himachal Pradesh, the lake sits at an altitude of 14,000 feet above sea level. The lush meadows, diverse species of beautiful flowers, and the lake itself are the primary attractions of this trek, which covers a distance of 26 kilometers.
Situated in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, Kanamo Peak offers an excellent trekking adventure during the monsoon season. The peak stands at an elevation of 19,553 feet above sea level. What makes this trek unique is that, despite its immense altitude, Kanamo is considered one of the world's highest yet relatively easy treks. This trek spans 30 kilometers.
