New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms and rainfall across Delhi-NCR, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave conditions in the region.

According to the latest weather update, parts of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and surrounding areas are likely to experience cloudy skies, gusty winds and intermittent rain over the next few hours to days.

Relief After Intense Heatwave

The region has been reeling under extreme temperatures in recent days, with heatwave conditions affecting daily life and increasing electricity demand. The predicted rainfall is expected to bring a noticeable drop in temperature and improve overall weather conditions.

Meteorologists said the change in weather pattern is due to moisture incursion combined with local atmospheric instability, which is favourable for thunderstorm development.

IMD Advisory

The IMD has advised residents to stay cautious during thunderstorms, warning of possible lightning, strong winds and temporary disruptions in outdoor activities and traffic movement.

Officials have also urged people to avoid taking shelter under trees and to secure loose objects during gusty winds.

Weather Outlook

Further updates from IMD suggest that intermittent rain activity may continue in parts of north India, keeping temperatures under control for the next few days.
