A major political upheaval is set to occur in Bihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to resign from his post today on Tuesday. The formal resignation process is expected to be completed by noon, paving the way for the formation of a new government in the state. According to sources, the next Chief Minister of Bihar will be from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This change will be seen after a long time since the BJP has taken over the reins of the state. The much-awaited Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, which now covers the distance from Delhi to Dehradun in just two and a half hours, has been opened to the public today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate this modern expressway in Dehradun. This new highway has made travel faster and more convenient, but it also comes with several strict rules.
The Transport Department has clarified that adhering to the prescribed speed limit on the expressway will be mandatory. High-tech cameras have been installed along the entire route, which will automatically issue challans for overspeeding and driving in the wrong direction. Stopping in the middle of the road or making U-turns is strictly prohibited on the expressway. Travelers must prioritize entry and exit points.
The latest petrol and diesel rates in country were released Tuesday morning. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) update prices based on international crude oil prices and fluctuations in the dollar-rupee exchange rate. These changes directly impact the common man's pockets, making it essential to stay updated on daily prices.
Slight fluctuations in petrol and diesel prices have been observed in most districts of the state. Minor changes in rates have also been recorded in major cities like Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Noida, and Ghaziabad. However, overall prices have remained stable, with no significant increase.
Government offices, courts, post offices, government schools and colleges, and public sector undertakings (PSUs) will remain closed across the country on Ambedkar Jayanti. The stock market will also be completely closed today. Trading will be suspended on both the BSE and NSE exchanges. There will be no transactions in the equity, derivatives, and SLB segments. Trading will resume on April 15th.
Although the morning session at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will be closed, trading will continue from 5:00 PM to 11:55 PM. Commodity trading will be partially operational.
Bank branches will be closed in several major cities across the country, including Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru. This may result in customers having to wait a day for banking transactions.
