Chandauli: A sensational incident has come to light in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, where Santosh Maurya, brother of BJP District Vice President Dr. Pradeep Maurya, was shot dead. The incident took place in Sahadullapur town of Chakia Kotwali area, where Santosh Maurya was at his grocery shop.

This incident is from ward number 7 of the city, where the accused Devendra Jaiswal alias Prakash Jaiswal committed the crime in broad daylight. After which the whole city was shaken by the sound of bullets.

Information about the case

Let us tell you that the accused Prakash Jaiswal, in a drunken state, fired at Santosh Maurya with a double barrel gun. Santosh Maurya was seriously injured due to the bullet and was taken to the District Joint Hospital Chakia, where doctors declared him dead. Police have arrested the accused Prakash Jaiswal and recovered the weapon used in the murder.

Police action

The police have registered a case and started investigation regarding the incident and arrested the accused. The Superintendent of Police said that the accused has committed the crime under the influence of alcohol and the police is engaged in further action.

Political reaction

Chakia BJP MLA Kailash Kharwar and BJP District President reached the district hospital regarding this tragic incident and condemned the incident. They have demanded the administration to take strict action against the culprits.
