Kedarnath: The torrential rains in Uttarakhand have completely disrupted normal life. The frequent landslides in the hilly areas have not only disrupted traffic but also affected religious pilgrimages. Travelers are facing a lot of problems due to the intermittent debris on many routes.

The Public Works Department (PWD) is rapidly clearing and reopening the path so that at least pedestrian movement can be restored.
Passengers are being sent to Sonprayag
The passengers who were stranded in Gaurikund are now being sent towards Sonprayag under police supervision.
The route is also blocked near Munkatiya.
In the first phase, only returning passengers are being sent forward.
As soon as the road condition improves, other passengers will also be gradually moved forward.
Administration appeals to passengers
The administration has urged the passengers to start the journey only after seeing the weather forecast.
Follow the instructions of the local police and administration to avoid any emergency.
NDRF and SDRF teams are constantly monitoring the situation.
The Disaster Management Department has also warned that people should stay only at safe places marked by the local administration during the rain.
There is a danger of slippery and landslide due to rain. Therefore, devotees and passengers are requested not to take the natural disaster lightly and postpone the journey till the situation becomes normal.
