
Voters create uproar amid repolling at 15 booths in Bengal
New Delhi: Repolling is currently underway at 15 polling stations across two constituencies in West Bengal, with people turning out in large numbers to cast their votes. Several complaints regarding alleged vote manipulation were received during the second phase of the state assembly elections held on April 29.
Repolling at 15 Booths
Repolling is taking place at 15 booths across the Diamond Harbour and Magrahat West constituencies in West Bengal. In its order, the Election Commission stated that fresh voting would be conducted at 11 polling stations in Magrahat West and 4 polling stations in Diamond Harbour.
The Commission also issued directives for extensive public awareness campaigns within these polling areas and mandated that contesting candidates be formally notified in writing regarding the fresh polling scheduled for today.
Officials confirmed that voting at all 15 polling stations commenced at 7:00 AM and is scheduled to conclude at 6:00 PM.

In South 24 Parganas, locals are staging protests and alleging that TMC leaders are intimidating them.
By 11:00 AM, the average voter turnout across both constituencies stood at 36.99 percent.
By 9:00 AM, voter turnout at the booths in Magrahat West was recorded at 16.68 percent.
By 9:00 AM, voter turnout at the booths in Diamond Harbour was recorded at 15.83 percent. List of Polling Stations Where Re-polling is Taking Place
West Bengal's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manoj Agarwal, stated on Wednesday that 77 cases of tampering with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were reported during the second phase of voting. He warned that re-polling would be ordered at any booths where such violations are confirmed.
The Election Commission is on high alert to prevent potential post-election violence. Voting in West Bengal was conducted in two phases-on April 23 and April 29-during which the state recorded its highest voter turnout since independence. West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal dismissed all allegations made by the Trinamool.
