Weather takes a turn in Delhi-NCR; Strong winds and light rain bring relief from heat

The Meteorological Department forecasts that the skies over Delhi will remain cloudy on Thursday. There is also a possibility of light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds.

New Delhi: Amidst the scorching heat in Delhi-NCR, the weather has suddenly taken a turn. The skies have become overcast, accompanied by strong winds. Meanwhile, light rain has occurred in several areas, providing much-needed relief to residents from the heat.

The Meteorological Department forecasts that the skies over Delhi will remain cloudy on Thursday. There is also a possibility of light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds.

It is reported that the maximum temperature is expected to range between 37 and 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to hover around 20 degrees.

Maximum Temperature Recorded at 37.1°C
On Wednesday, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded at 37.1 degrees Celsius, which is 1.9 degrees below normal. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature was recorded at 20.4 degrees-3.4 degrees below the seasonal average. The previous day, Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.2 degrees, while the minimum stood at 28.4 degrees.

Prospects of Rain on May 5th as Well
According to Mahesh Palawat of Skymet Weather, the skies are expected to remain clear on Friday and Saturday; however, due to the activation of a new Western Disturbance starting Sunday, conditions conducive to rain and thunderstorms may re-emerge by May 5th. Consequently, the maximum temperature is likely to remain below 40 degrees Celsius throughout the coming week.
