Cyclonic circulation driving severe weather

According to the IMD, an active cyclonic circulation and the monsoon trough are responsible for the changing weather conditions. Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather and follow official advisories.

Hill states face landslide threat

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are likely to witness intense rainfall, raising the possibility of landslides and flash floods. Similar weather conditions have also been forecast for Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal and Sikkim. Local administrations have urged tourists and residents to stay away from rivers, streams and landslide-prone areas.
