Storm and rain have been wreaking havoc in Uttar Pradesh for the last two days. In the last 48 hours, 64 districts of the state have witnessed torrential rain.
According to government estimates, more than 60 people have lost their lives in accidents related to storm and rain. The maximum number of deaths (6) has been reported in Fatehpur district. Due to bad weather, four flights between Lucknow and Delhi were cancelled.
In terms of rainfall, CM Yogi's region Gorakhpur is on top in UP so far. Where 74 mm of rain has occurred. Whereas, Meerut in West UP is at number one with 27.6 mm of rain.
The weather department has issued a rain alert in 61 districts of UP on Friday. During this time, winds will blow at a speed of 40 km per hour.
Similar weather will prevail in the state till May 30. In the last 24 hours, a sudden drop of 3-5 degrees has been recorded in the maximum temperature. Jhansi was the hottest city in UP on Thursday. The mercury here was recorded at 46.1 degrees.
