PM Modi chairs CCS meeting on Iran war
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Wednesday to review the evolving situation arising from the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran in West Asia.
This marks the second such meeting since the conflict began on February 28, underlining the government’s continued focus on monitoring its implications for India.

The meeting was attended by senior Union ministers including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, S. Jaishankar and Nirmala Sitharaman, among others.
Top officials present included National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, along with senior bureaucrats such as the Cabinet Secretary and the Prime Minister’s principal secretaries.
Discussions during the meeting centred on India’s preparedness in the face of potential disruptions to energy supplies and global supply chains. With tensions affecting critical maritime routes and oil flows, the government reviewed measures to ensure the availability of essential commodities, including fuel and food.
The conflict has triggered volatility in global energy markets, prompting the need for close monitoring and contingency planning.
The Prime Minister had earlier chaired a similar CCS meeting on March 22, where a detailed assessment of supply availability and economic impact was undertaken. Officials noted that the situation continues to evolve, requiring sustained vigilance.
In his recent address during Mann Ki Baat, Modi described the West Asia conflict as a serious global challenge. He urged citizens to remain united, avoid spreading rumours, and refrain from politicising the situation.
The Prime Minister directed all departments to work in coordination to minimise inconvenience to citizens. He emphasised the importance of preparedness and collective responsibility in managing the impact of the crisis.
