New Delhi: The new political star Cockroach Janta Party that surfaced as one of the most controversial youth-led movements in the aftermath of NEET-UG paper leak protests has now disclosed its next move. Founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday said that the organisation has no plans to transform itself as a political party and will be working as a pressure group to bring issues of young Indians to public domain.
Prior to the organisation's core team meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra Dipke said the movement will now broaden its scope beyond just exam related matters and engage in wider public issues including unemployment, trust in institutions, student rights, etc.
Dipke refused speculation that the CJP would evolve into a political party.
"We are not thinking of starting a political party. I think the media is more interested in that," he said.
Instead it would continue to operate as a pressure group.
"Currently, CJP will function as a pressure group because that is what India needs at this point in time," Dipke said.
Dipke said the strategy meeting was held to draft a roadmap for the movement and identify areas where the agency can contribute to the country.

Dipke said the movement will now broaden its coverage to address issues that affect young Indians.
The core team meeting deliberated on crucial issues, including lack of public confidence in institutions such as the judiciary and the media, increasing unemployment, and worries surrounding ethanol-blended fuel.

Dipke also told about a plan for a national listening tour to engage with students and young people in various states.
"Today, we have assembled together to sketch the roadmap, how and where we can contribute in different parts of the country," Dipke said.
Dipke added that the organisation is ready to stand with students wherever they are on strike.
"Wherever students are agitating or demanding an issue, we are with them," Dipke said.
In response to questions about the ongoing students' protest in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in an exam for civil services by JPSC, Dipke said the organization would discuss the issue in the meeting.
"Whether it is necessary, we will go there," Dipke said.
The comment was made as student protests in Jharkhand continued to intensify, with student leader Devendra Nath Mahto on an indefinite hunger strike.
CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das said environmentalist and activist Sonam Wangchuk will keep mentoring the movement.
Das said the organization will consult Wangchuk for guidance on the movement's future campaigns and student-related issues.
Earlier in the day, Wangchuk also expressed his support for the Jharkhand student movement and Devendra Nath Mahto, expressing his emotional support for the ongoing agitation.
Das said getting relief for students who were booked on police action during the nationwide NEET protests remains CJP’s top priority right now.
The organisation is in talks with government officials to get the FIRs filed against student protesters to be dropped.
CJP is also making arrangements to provide legal and medical aid to those who were hurt during the demonstrations in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bihar, where protests turned violent.
The movement, that has started as an online parody campaign only two months ago, rapidly morphed into a nationwide protest against exam paper leaks and unemployment. The agitation eventually forced Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign, thereby becoming one of the most powerful youth-led pressure groups in the last few years.
