Noida International Airport is set to become a major aviation hub in India, with its first commercial flights expected to take off soon after inauguration. Authorities are finalizing flight schedules, booking timelines, and initial routes.

Noida International Airport Set for Inauguration
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Noida International Airport in Jewar. Built at a cost of approximately ₹11,200 crore, the airport's first phase will be able to handle approximately 12 million passengers annually. It is Uttar Pradesh's fifth international airport and will serve as the second major international hub for Delhi-NCR.
According to Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, it typically takes 45 to 60 days between an airport receiving its license and the start of commercial flights. Noida Airport received its aerodrome license on March 6th. Therefore, it is likely that the first commercial flight will take off from here by the end of April or early May.

In the initial phase, flights are expected to begin from this airport to major cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Cities like Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Pune, Goa, and Jaipur will then gradually be added to the network.
Ticket booking is expected to open approximately 4 to 6 weeks before flight services resume from the airport. If flights begin in May, the booking window could open in April.
The country's leading airline, IndiGo, is expected to operate the first flight from this airport. Akasa Air and Air India are also expected to launch their services from here.
Noida International Airport successfully conducts first flight validation
Noida International Airport is one of the largest greenfield airport projects in the country. A 3,900-meter-long runway has been built here, capable of handling large aircraft. The airport has been equipped with a modern instrument landing system (ILS) and advanced lighting system, ensuring safe flights in all weather conditions.
A multi-modal cargo hub, integrated terminal, and logistics zone have also been developed, capable of handling 2.5 lakh metric tons of cargo annually.
This airport will bring great convenience to the people of Noida and Greater Noida, as well as Delhi, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Aligarh, Mathura, and Agra. It will also help alleviate the growing pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport.
