Jaunpur: Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash near Baramati airport on Wednesday morning. Flight attendant Pinky Mali, a resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, also died in this tragic accident. A total of five people were on board, including two crew members and two of Ajit Pawar's associates.
Pinky Mali's last conversation
According to media reports, in her last conversation with her family, Pinky Mali said, "Dad, I'm going to Baramati with Ajit Dada Pawar. After dropping him off in Baramati, I will go to Nanded."
Her father, Shivkumar Mali, said that nothing special was said during this conversation, and they planned to talk again in the morning. Pinky had been working as a flight attendant on private chartered flights for the past 5 years. Earlier, she worked for Air India Airlines and then joined a private chartered flight company.
Who was Pinky Mali?
Pinky Mali was a resident of Bhaisa village in Kerakat tehsil of Jaunpur. Her family lives in Mumbai and occasionally visits Jaunpur. Pinky was married 5-6 years ago. Her father, Shivkumar Mali, is a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Pappu Mali, National Secretary of Apna Dal, said that Pinky Mali's family also had political connections. Pinky had always shown seriousness towards her work in her professional life.
How did the helicopter crash happen?
According to reports, the plane crashed during landing near Baramati airport. According to flight radar data, the aircraft took off from Mumbai at 8:10 AM and disappeared from radar at 8:45 AM.
A total of five people were on board the aircraft at the time of the accident. The aircraft caught fire immediately after the crash, and all those on board were taken to the hospital, but none could be saved.
Possible cause of the accident
According to media reports, the pilot had reported poor visibility near the runway before landing. The aircraft was a Learjet 45 (LJ45), a mid-size business jet manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace. During landing, the aircraft veered off the runway and was engulfed in flames.
Ajit Pawar was traveling for election campaigning
Ajit Pawar was traveling from Mumbai to Baramati for campaigning for the Zilla Parishad elections scheduled for February 5th. His family includes his wife Sunetra Pawar (a Rajya Sabha member) and two sons, Parth and Jay.
Recently, his party, the NCP, contested the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporation elections in an alliance with Sharad Pawar's party.
