Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuing its efforts to make social welfare schemes more transparent, accessible and focused on public welfare. Special emphasis is being placed on using technology to ensure that benefits reach eligible people and make the government system more accountable. Measures such as online applications, digital payments and beneficiary verification have made the implementation of schemes more systematic.

Digital platforms to streamline welfare schemes

The state is prioritising digital modes for implementing various Social Welfare Department schemes, including old-age pensions, scholarships and the National Family Benefit Scheme. This has made the process more convenient for beneficiaries, from submitting applications to receiving payments.

At the same time, eligibility verification has strengthened the mechanism to ensure that government assistance reaches those who genuinely need it. The Yogi government is working towards developing a system that eliminates unnecessary visits to government offices to access scheme benefits.

The government's initiative to link scheme applications and payments through online platforms is aimed at ensuring transparency. Digital payments facilitate the direct transfer of assistance to beneficiaries, while the verification process helps establish eligibility and improve the implementation of schemes. These measures are also intended to strengthen public trust in government welfare programmes.

Focus on grievance redressal and accountability

The Social Welfare Department is also focusing on resolving scheme-related complaints and reviewing pending cases. Emphasis is being placed on the time-bound resolution of issues related to applications, eligibility and payments. This is helping address difficulties faced by beneficiaries while improving accountability in the department's functioning.
