New Delhi: A guest teacher from Haryana's Rohtak district has been suspended days after participating in a protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on June 6. The action has triggered fresh debate over the rights of government employees to take part in public demonstrations.

Suspension Order Issued Without Stated Reason

According to reports, District Elementary Education Officer issued the suspension order on June 11, making it effective from June 8.

After CJP’s 7-day warning, will Dharmendra Pradhan step down or face a renewed protest wave?

The order directed teacher Sulekha Dalal to remain attached to the office of the Rohtak Block Education Officer during the suspension period and not leave the station without prior permission. Notably, the order did not specify the reason for the suspension.

Viral Video Draws Attention

The development comes after a video of Dalal addressing participants at the CJP protest circulated widely on social media. In the clip, she spoke about concerns over recruitment examination irregularities and described herself as a concerned mother rather than a political activist.

Dalal later said she was unaware that attending such a protest could lead to disciplinary action and expressed disappointment that no explanation had been provided before her suspension.

‘I Went There as a Mother’

Explaining her participation, Dalal said her son had appeared in a recruitment examination allegedly affected by irregularities, making the issue personal for her family.

She maintained that she attended the gathering solely as a parent concerned about the future of young job aspirants and denied being associated with any political party or organisation.

CJP Protest Focused on Exam Irregularities

The Cockroach Janta Party's June 6 protest at Jantar Mantar attracted students and youth from across the country. Protesters demanded accountability over alleged examination irregularities and called for reforms in the education sector.

The youth-led platform has gained attention in recent weeks through social media campaigns highlighting concerns related to recruitment exams and educational transparency.
