Naseeruddin Shah labels PM Modi ‘Jaahil’: Extends Support To Student Protesters

Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah has shared a video message criticising PM Modi and the actions of Delhi police on students who were marching towards Parliament on 20th July. He also called PM Modi uneducated.

New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah has shared a video slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the actions of Delhi Police against protestors at Jantar Mantar. He expressed his solidarity with the youth participating in the ongoing NEET protest.

The Delhi Police lathi charge on protesters and used tear gas on Monday during the student-led demonstration. Multiple videos and pics surfaced on social media of students being beaten by the police officials.

The CJP is demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET-UG paper leaks and irregularities in the education system.

Naseeruddin Shah Slams PM Modi and Delhi Police

A day after the Parliament march, Naseer expressed deep anger in a video message. The veteran actor said in Urdu that, “Agar ek jaahil iss mulk ki rehnimaayi kare to  uska dil yahi chahega ki poora mulk ussi ki tarah jaahil, nasamajh, naakabil aur berehem bane (If a fool runs this country, his heart will want that the entire country becomes ignorant, foolish, incompetent, and merciless like him).”

He further spoke about his professional training at the National School of Drama (NSD) and Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Naseer said that he learned the most about his profession and skill from the youth and educated personalities he once tried to reach.
